Ron Vesely

Ron Vesely served as the Chicago White Sox official Team Photographer for thirty-seven seasons until his retirement following the 2021 season.

During this time, Vesely covered twenty-five World Series for clients such as Major League Baseball, The Sporting News and Sport Magazine (and one for his beloved White Sox).

Vesely documented many of baseball’s most iconic moments, including Kirby Puckett’s 1991 Game 6 World Series home run, Joe Carter’s 1993 Game 6 World Series walk-off Series winning home run and Derek Jeter’s 2001 “Mr. November” walk-off home run.

From a Chicago perspective, Vesely was there to capture both the Chicago White Sox (2005) and Chicago Cubs (2016) Championship drought ending Fall Classics. Along with these historic post season moments, Vesely photographed four no-hitters, including Mark Buehrle’s perfect game, featured on the August 3, 2009, cover of Sports Illustrated.

Vesely’s work has appeared on the covers of countless magazines and books, as well as used by major sporting goods manufacturers and trading cards companies. Thousands of Vesely’s baseball images reside in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

While primarily known for his Major League Baseball work, Vesely also covered eleven Super Bowls for the National Football League.

Vesely served as President of the American Society of Media Photographers, Chicago/Midwest Chapter and was a founding member of the ASMP’s Sports Specialty Group.
